September is Student Attendance Awareness Month

September is Student Attendance Awareness Month The New Jersey Department of Education is pleased to join other states in recognizing September as Student Attendance Awareness Month. For students to learn and achieve their fullest potential, it is critical that they are in school and engaged in the learning process. Chronic absenteeism – defined as missing 10 percent or more days of school for any reason, including both excused and unexcused absences – can occur when a student misses as few as two days of school per month over the course of a school year. Chronic absenteeism negatively affects academic performance, increasing the risk of lower grades and dropping out. Chronically absent students are more likely to earn lower grades and standardized test scores compared to their peers with regular attendance. Cell Phone Use
RVRHS students are reminded of the District's Cell Phone Policy. No cell phones, headsets, or earbuds are allowed to be visible or in use during the school day.
